Oh, I think so. Your answer would probably come across better if I was laughing with you.

I had low expectations, yes, but somehow our PM managed to turn the recognition of Palestinian statehood into something that makes all sorts of demands on Palestinians while using the most passive of possible voices to describe Israel’s campaign of war crimes and genocide: “The ongoing failure by the Israeli government to prevent the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian disaster in Gaza” I just cannot fathom how morally bankrupt someone has to be to make a statement so backhanded and cruel in the midst of so much injustice against the Palestinian people.

So this whole thing is BS, we as Canadians should not be paying for cable as all Canadian cable basic packages pay for US networks and we should not be paying US networks. I will admit that I could be wrong about the French basic networks. Canadians should pay for the Canadian channels if they want them. The shows I want to watch I can still watch on Global TV, CTV, CityTV, or CBC apps the day after the only channel I pay for is CBC because I wanna occasionally see the news. I am seriously considering paying for TSN cause I occasionally want to watch Canadian or international sporting events. I did have some very basic streaming service from my ISP for basic cable viewing but when the boycott started I called them up and I cancelled it, as soon as they started their attempt to keep me I told them that I simply was not going to pay for a service that I needed to pay for US things when there was alternative ways to not pay for them. To be fair I do not really pay for the US shows offered on the CityGV, CTV, or Global the day after they are aired because I use a pihole to block the ads! But more to the point of the title of this article Tells, Bell, and Rogers are a freakin duopoly that work together. The proof of of this is in Saskatchewan, the only place they have real competition where they have to act competitively with Sasktel.

That is seriously funny as I picked exactly THAT line from your response Apparently you find yourself so insulting that even you yourself wouldn’t dignify your own responses with a read… Bravo.

I come from a place of realism, I assure you. The Minister in Ottawa already said that he wanted housing more affordable but to not reduce the value of the houses. Much of our money is in housing, and many of our politicians are landlords and real estate investors… The only encouragement I got for you is that the CMHC said that the realistic aim with building new housing is to bring it back to 2019 levels of affordability. So from nightmarishly unattainable to disgustingly out of reach.

good luck passing a no visible rust law without banning road salt. Germany uses road salt as well. They’re not a tropical country in the least.

« Tous les chemins vers la paix durable en Israël demandent aussi un État palestinien viable et stable » : le Canada emboîte le pas à la France et au Royaume-Uni et reconnaîtra la Palestine en tant qu’État en septembre sous certaines conditions, a annoncé le premier ministre Mark Carney

It happens sometimes. I really hope some non-terrible corps bid on it and get a profitable wind industry moving in the East.

How about we name the organisations engaging in these slave labour practice’s, AND the owners and managers of those organisations? Include the majority and voting shareholders if they are corporations.

Thanks for responding and for taking a thoughtful approach with this. I would very much like the fediverse to eventually replace corporate social media, so it’s good to see folks working on governance and policy with an eye to the future. And obviously I get that this can take time, especially when people are doing so on a volunteer basis. I’d suggest, though, asking community members for suggestions & feedback early in the process, and also to seek out existing work on the topic of online community safety & governance, especially by women, BIPOC and queer folks, if you haven’t already. When I had looked through the mod log recently, there was also a case where a post from the Toronto Sun (to be clear, fuck the Toronto Sun) had been taken down with the reason being something like “American owned propaganda newspaper” and then reinstated. There at least need to be some clear guidelines around what can be posted, it can’t just be completely made up on the fly. Don’t feel obliged to respond to this message, I just wanted to communicate these things to you. Thanks again

I ordered four expensive (8TB) M.2 SSDs and one was clearly fake. The label had been removed and applied to a different chip. Only because I had three that looked completely different was I able to press a refund from Amazon without much pushback (I sensed that due to the price, if I’d had only one chip and was suspicious, they’d have made me jump through hoops to prove the fraud).

Unless you’re using an instant-courier type service (i.e. uber/doordash), goods are usually delivered as part of a regular route by the delivery driver. Your USB pen is only one of hundreds of packages being delivered by that driver, and that driver will be following a fairly consistent route each day. I’d say it’s about as efficient as taking public transit to the store

This doesn’t seem to be news. It’s more of a book review.
