This strikes me as a modern shift in language. I always felt like the default was set by the shorter scenarios published in Dragon magazine, which looked like they assumed an adventure took a single evening.Makes sense though. The bigger modules (i.e. those with an entire book to themselves) never did take a single evening.

'Explicitly agree' means the owner has stated the agreement, not that they have clicked a box which comes with a previso.
...or it means 'sexy'. Artists must agree in a sexy way. It's the only reasonable interpretation.
