I hate to be the one to point it out to Trump, but a significant number of famous cards living in the US are actually Canadian. And if he deports them… well, then he won’t have them all, will he?

Dan Leising is Johnny Noviello’s (the deceased Canadian cashier and janitor) lawyer. In 2023, Noviello was convicted of a number of offences — including racketeering and drug trafficking — and had been sentenced to 12 months in prison, according to the ICE release. Being sentenced to 364 days, he served time in county jail and was out on probation when he was arrested by ICE in May. Leising says Noviello had not violated the terms of his probation. Leising described the charges against Noviello as “very, very serious.” He said Noviello had worked as a cashier and did some janitorial work, and had no prior criminal record. “Is he violent or anybody that you’d be afraid of if you walked by them on the street? Absolutely not,” said Leising. Noviello’s death comes as ICE agents are making sweeping arrests across the United States. Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff and the main architect of U.S. President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, has pushed ICE to aim for at least 3,000 arrests a day, up from about 650 a day during the first five months of Trump’s second term. I’m upset and angry as more deaths will undoubtedly follow. This is 2025 and yet innocent people are still being slaughtered. We are all human. Everyone just wants to live at minimum a decent life. Why can’t we simply acknowledge that mass deportations, perpetual hate, and attacking others will not make things better. This is not the way. I cannot describe the unbelievable frustrations that I have deep inside as a systems analyst. 답답하다 Please tell your lived ones to escape if you can. You might’ve already heard and seen others saying the same. This is a repeat of similar tragedies and things will only get worse in the short term and it will most likely be quite some time until things get better again in the Dictatorial States of America.

Maybe even protest that they should invent a time machine to go back and do it in 2013.

I mean, fuck me do I prefer Doug Ford’s last 4 years of words and actions compared to PP. I hope he does run the Cons, I’m not saying I want the guy as PM but even then he’s shown to be way more reasonable than a guy like pollieirve, if the usual rebound were to finally kick in.

Would you happen to have a cite supporting the burden of proof is on the defendant to prove their statements weren’t defamatory? I’m not familiar with that.

Time to axe the section of our law that mirrors DMCA 1201 (the anti circumvention section). We were forced to put it in place to maintain tariff-free trade with the US, but I don’t see a reason to keep it in place anymore. US tech oligarch would sure hold a lot fewer cards if that happened.

“There’s a misconception sometimes that used EV batteries are not valuable,” said Brian Kingston, president and CEO of the CVMA, in an interview with Electric Autonomy. “The reality is, they are very valuable. The materials in them can be reused, repurposed, and recycled. That’s a key part of moving to a more circular economy model in the EV space.” … Another important learning from the pilot was the benefit of formalizing relationships between manufacturers and recyclers. “It’s just been extremely helpful from a manufacturer perspective, in terms of dealing with recyclers, creating some of those connections and relationships and making sure that we have a process in place,” said Kingston.

A lot of Iranians think the CIA installed the Ayotolla and that the Shah was loved by the people and democratic but they don’t know who Mossadeq was. Being Iranian doesn’t automatically mean you have a correct opinion about Iran. Just ask the Canadians at the trucker convoy pleading the fifth.
