It's that old thing, the "if you're not paying for the product, it's because you ARE the product."

We pay for Mastodon. Maybe not you, individually, but someone does. Owners pay for hosting and bandwidth and storage and the domain and all that other fun stuff. And I've seen the numbers for some of these instances, they can be very... not cheap to run.

So, if you're on Mastodon and have a few bucks to chip in, see if your instance owner has a patreon or a kofi or something, maybe chip in and do your part.

@CactuarJoe I miss the wild west days where games would last more than 2-3 rounds. Once the one-hit-kill combos became the default way to play and my various jamming mechanisms were one-by-one deemed illegal, I stopped being interested.

@CactuarJoe My absolutely favorite dick move was to build up a bunch of swamps LOOKING like I was charging up for an X based attack or buff like Howl From Beyond or Fireball... and then drop this baby on them.

The look of horror on their rich asshole faces as my entire mana factory farm suddenly transforms into 1/1 creatures, essentially giving me a swampy "Force of Nature", an X/X creature with trample

@CactuarJoe The school didn't like open, overt gambling, so IN school we played for "Soft Ante" - cards that were ante'd went into a pool and were returned to their owners at the end of the game, and my deck basically was built around shielding me from their one-hit-kill combos while I removed all the cards they needed to make those combos from their decks by banishing them using the modified Ante mechanic.

And since most of the stuff in MY deck were garbage 1/1 creatures and lands, it didn't matter if pieces of me were chipped away too. All I needed to do was keep removing the building blocks of their deck and enduring their attacks until I could charge up for any of the X-based attacks I had laying in wait in my deck.

I have a dumb request, and I know it's completely pointless because you cannot play this card anymore at all, it's turbo super double secret banned from all MTGs ever, but it was sort of my... signature card back in the day, like how Kaiba had the Blue Eyes White Dragon... except I was an asshole who played for ante against rich kids to make them suffer.

So, if you ever feel like doing a freelance request, I'd love to see your take on Demonic Attorney
