I hope it's changing. One of the more frustrating things I've experienced in recent years is fellow white feminists assuming that if I am commenting about a marginalized group, I must think myself part of it. 'Oh my God, you're not THAT poor/disadvantaged' uh... I did not in any way imply that I was? I said people deserve food, not that I personally deserve free food.

I think one of the biggest changes in how I communicate online came after moving to Fedi.@artemis It has been an adjustment to not assume everything said to or near me is intended to start a debate. I never got into the arguments, but I definitely assumed the worst by the end of my time on Twitter.
