@bri7 @miriamrobern I wouldn't say that fuckchuckle founded punk. That cuts too many folks (from MC5 to Zunō Keisatsu and The Bad Brains) out of their due.
It is, however, true that by the time most folks my age were saying "punk" we'd already been marketed to by folks who were capitalist abusers.
So there is a way in which this is a battle as old as punk. Because any time someone wants to make some art, some other asshole is going to sell it and abuse the folks making it.
