Also, poisons are a *super* equalizer, just have to be careful about where you use them, because witnesses go berserk.Assassins are 2 levels lower in Thief skills, which is still pretty cheap compared to other classes (Level 3 = 3000 EP = just over Level 2 for Monk), and they get EP for assassinations, including the percentile-roll off-screen assassin table (use of which is not explained in the book). They always levelled *fast*.
Every edition nerfed them worse.

Shaolin school didn't historically allow women to fight, either, but kung fu movies never seemed to care, and kinda gloss over any religious training.
Sometimes Ninja are also addressed as Kunoichi, but it's not necessary to gender it in Japanese.

Blackmoor had a mashup of anything Dave found interesting, Mongol hordes and spacemen included. Greyhawk was all western Europe 16th C pastiche with glaive-guisarme-voulge-isans. Almost every other setting from the early days was a mashup, too. Samurai & ninja were all over the place. If Conan's the model, he routinely visited Africa & some Arabia.
The monsters are from all over, why shouldn't the adventurers be, too?

Speaking of alternative systems for palladium games, my first thought for a fun TMNT one shot would be Feng Shui.@deinol I've never seen the need for alternative systems. Chargen takes forever, but they mostly addressed that with the skill programs and a better skill index with % listed.
Combat's already just pick a maneuver and make opposed d20 rolls, it's hard to speed that up more?
TMNT and PF2 can have too many SDC for the fighting-mooks tone, so divide those by 5 or whatever.
N&S or HU2 are supposed to have drawn out comics/B-movie fights, so SDC tanks are fine.
