Do you have 5.25" and 8" floppy disks that are spare, low-quality, degrading, or just generally in bad shape? -
#jailbreak #hack #f35 #uspol@littlealex That guy should be shot for saying what he did. Cancelled a big advantage that we might have had.

You're a villain, what're your weaknesses?@ami_angelwings It is not kryptonite, just looks, feels and smells like it. It is the smell that really does it. It enters my nose and sends lead slugs down my arms to slam into my fingertips, which involuntarily fall to the floor taking my shoulders with them. With my knees locked, I have to sustain the arse-up position for 36 minutes after which time I can find the strength to pull my hands underneath me and push up into a sitting position. Full recovery is then just 23 hours away.

Caw@reillypascal @fractalkitty If you are expecting me to click on that link you need to provide me with a good reason to do so. Why don't you give a bit more of a clue about what is on the other end?

I'm talking about all of the misogyny crap today because folks keep speaking for me and saying I'm one of Fedi's big boosters.@vkc Really sorry to hear that. My experience here is great, and you make it better. Don't know what to say.

Honestly great news.@ethanschoonover Where Musk goes all-in on something that cannot be delivered tomorrow, Bezos goes all-in on something that will be duplicitous when it arrives in ten year's time, Zuck goes all-in on vapour. Every time.

We knew this was coming, but now the clock is running.@earthlingusa @briankrebs Are you for real? Did you learn nothing from Ed Snowden? They are already in there...

F$&@inβ hell!!@laidbackdm Discovery is my favourite of all the Treks. Like the original series, it imagines a time so far in the future that we can't relate, hence is true speculative fiction. All the other series use technology that we basically have laying around today (apart from the spaceships and transporters).
Plus the Discovery acting is incredible.

I tip my hat to #Bose for giving owners of soon-to-be End of Life/support speakers the garantuee that the devices will continue to function and giving them the information needed to collectively build new tools to do even more with them.@jwildeboer This activity should be enshrined in law. Not to do it would have meant they sold a not-fit-for-purpose product.

"Is the future of the open social web one dominant protocol or bridges and duct tape?" @atomicpoet at #Fedicon"Is the future of the open social web one dominant protocol or bridges and duct tape?" @atomicpoet at #Fedicon
All things, applications, libraries, protocols, breathe through time: they alternately explore, expand, complexify, and then mature and simplify. This will be true of the open social web.
If you are exploring the space, be free to use duct tape, and definitely bridge.
