I spent some time reading though Palladium Fantasy RPG just to get a sense of it.

… well, this is by far the craziest organized rule book I have ever read. We’re in step 2 of character creation why are we talking about death rules and resurrection? Why are we talking about that, and character classes are a hundred pages away? The author is like a squirrel with bad memory; he just shoves his nuts where ever he wants and forgets about them.

Central mechanics are all inferred, not explained. The skill list is insane. Why is BREEDING DOGS a skill? Why is it different from animal husbandry? Why are athletics, forced marching, and running separate skills? Why is mathematics two different skills? Do we really need falconry? Why is tracking humans different from tracking animals? When do I call for acrobatics, and gymnastics? Why do we get pages of inane highly specific side rules, but for core rules we need to read between the lines?

WHAT KIND OF GAME ARE YOU RUNNING, author!? Why are there like, 6 different ways to kick someone? Why does every paragraph feel like I’m being taught the system by my uncle bob? Why do we keep talking in acronyms before they’re introduced?

I am not sure how anyone plays this game.
