Can someone explain to me how fentanyl is a legit medicine and yet the cops say that even the tiniest amount accidentally touched can kill? I'm super confused.

Also, people say that fentanyl is being found in illegally manufactured drugs that are not intended as pain killers, like treatments for ADHD or anxiety. Where the fuck is that coming from? Cross-contamination? Why would anyone intentionally do that?

@DejahEntendu well the law enforcement system in the USA is just gang violence and cages and enslavement

they lie about everything, so that's the answer there, they are lying

the pharma corps side of things is more complicated but they are also lying

@DejahEntendu Yeah it's weird. My brother was prescribed fent patches when nothing else worked. If the dose was too high, it just made him feel worse. We were all paranoid about it - being careful helping him apply the patches etc. all because of the propaganda around it.

Although I also know someone that lost an adult child when they thought they were buying street ritalin or something but it had fentanyl in it.

@kevin So, I did read something after I posted this about street drugs being laced with fentanyl in order to encourage addiction even for things that aren't supposed to be addictive in the first place. Which made it make a bit more sense, but still...

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's kid. Losing your child is about the worst thing that can happen to a parent. But I'm glad you're brother made it through ok.

Maybe the takeaway is under trained people can get it wrong?

I'm totally in agreement on the cops bit. Exaggerating/lying is an excellent tool for control if you can suppress the truth well enough.

And, yeah, some meds are dangerous, but it feels like if fentanyl is that dangerous, maybe it oughtn't be a med...

Idk I was pretty glad my dad had a few 50mg tabs for his hip surgery

lots of drugs get a lot more dangerous when the only outlets for joy in a society are drugs 😺
