The beer clone I made turned out to be somewhat hilarious.

Whoever wrote the clone recipe was completely off their knocker and did zero research. They called it Cascadian Dark, when the original (after I visited the brewery) is an English Brown. My choice to replace all the cascade hops with a Hallertau derived hop on a whim was a good one - because that’s what the original does. Because you know, they advertise their main hop, which the clone author completely ignored. Cascades in a sweeter beer like this would have ruined it.

The main mistake I made in this beer is that I didn’t sparge enough and get enough product, which caused me to also over carb it. Not the worst, but it’s a bit too heavy and it bubbles out of the bottle. If I’d cut this with another gallon of water it’d be a pretty sweet beer. As it stands it’s ok. A bit boozy. Got some of that home brew flavor.

On to the next one I guess.
