Typically I defer to the sheet music when it comes to lyrics, but when a song is so wonderfully presented by the incomparable Sophie Tucker I think it's understandable that I've stuck more closely to her version.

There are actually more choruses included in the sheet music, mostly a little peevish about the war, but the second chorus does include the following:
"And if a big truck-driver over there /
Wears silk and satin underwear /
FIFTY MILLION FRENCHMEN CAN'T BE WRONG"I couldn't possibly comment.
The original ukulele arrangement is for a uke tuned in D (ADF♯B), so you can tune your soprano up to that and use the same chord shapes to play it.

@BigJackBrass Sophie Tucker is also the subject of the classic example of a Spoonerism: "I'm a big Sophie Fucker-tan!"
