I got "uprgraded" to Alexa+ today. I figured this out.
To turn off Alexa+ (Early Access), you can use your voice by saying "Alexa, end Early Access" or "Alexa, exit Alexa Plus," or go to your Amazon account's Memberships & Subscriptions online and select "End Early Access," which reverts your devices to the original Alexa experience.
It worked.
I'd rather not deal more instrusive AI, but I do like the music streaming and timers/alarms from my devices. I also didn't it start charging me.

@Sablebadger I find that the new voice is in uncanny valley territory.
