I often see some writers lament how bad they are at marketing or how they don't want to do marketing because they feel bad about it.

This is of course anecdotal, but I guess unless people actually had education about good marketing in one form or another, maybe this is really a problem in the fediverse.

(I learned about marketing and advertising in a college for higher education.)

I am largely self-taught when it comes to marketing, but considering how I've accumulated more than 3,800 followers around here I must be doing _something_ right.

I did figure out that if I don't talk about the stuff I am making, then nobody else will - for how would they learn about my stuff in the first place?

At the same time, I also realized that writing the same thing over and over again is not an effective marketing strategy, either. Hence my current approach, which got refined over time.
