Good eve fediverse denizens! I'm Kit, a queer disabled history student with a love for old books, antiques and open-source knowledge! I am rapidly approaching my 40th year on this planet and am going through the slow process of getting my undergrad (mid 3rd year right now) while juggling my disability.I am currently calling Scotland my home and speak both English and French, so tend to share knowledge in either of these languages. My area of interest are vast and having to find a 'speciality' is the bane of my existence. I tend to prefer anything pre-1900s but post-BC. Japan is a particular country of interest but I don't let that stop me. It made me remember this lesser known one.This book is a cultural history of the city of Chang'An through the collected tales of failed examinees, women and foreigners. #OnThisDay, 21 June 1913, Georgia 'Tiny' Broadwick becomes the first woman to parachute from an airplane.
