I bought myself a Sailor Tuzu F. Of all the entry level fountain pens with a triangular grip, I like the hold of this one the best. The nib is that very Sailor-signature scratchy. It’s probably the closest I’ve gotten to writing with a FP that feels like a pencil. It’s also very sharp - no matter how light I hold I feel like it’s cutting into the paper and picking particulates. Usually I don’t have this problem on this paper. I like the look and the feel - but I have two complaints. First is that this is a very dry pen. I loaded up with 54th mass which is a very wet ink and it’s still pretty dry. The feed can’t quite keep up and I have to let it catch up every once in awhile. I’m not sure this would work with a dry ink. Second is the price. This is in the same price range as a Lamy Al-star and I’m not sure it’s a better pen given the plastic body. It does come with a converter, which is nice. You’re paying for the unique sailor style nib though. I think for entry level a plaisir, safari, or pilot metro are better for being half the price unless you really want that intentional scratch. #fountainpen
