I miss Pyramid Hefeweizen.

I miss Pyramid Hefeweizen. I think I am going to spend some time cloning it. It’s going to be a bit rough given that I don’t have the ability to lager though…

I’ll just use US-05 and hope for the best.
I really want to get a cooled fermenter. They’re damn expensive though. -

@NullNowhere Hefe? My German isn’t great. Now I’m not sure it’s German:) I know Weißen, but not weizen. Hmm.
Good luck!

@yon@sakurajima.moe Weißbier what I am referring to, but in the US it’s typically spelled “Hefeweizen”, or Hefe for short.
American Hefeweizen is its own style. Compared to its German counterpart, the American wheat has a cleaner yeast profile and is hoppier. Though I intend to keep the bitterness low. The American style also has none of the banana or clove taste, and can even be lagered (the German style is always ale yeast). -

The more you know:)
Not a drinker myself though, so I don’t think too much about it unless I speak with others.

@yon@sakurajima.moe I am a pretty light drinker too, but I really enjoy the crafting part. A 5Gal batch like this will probably last me months if I can’t find someone to drink it.
