Like, in either case it's The Depths of the respective season. You're stuck inside because the temperature is bordering on life-threatening in one direction or the other. Inside you're either huddling under blankets or hugging the AC vent, and either way what you're REALLY thinking is, "can I afford the ransom the power company would charge me for being *actually* comfortable?"

@CactuarJoe oh, too little sun in the UK for me to ever give up the last two weeks of August. Some of the only time the weather's heavily odds on to be good!

@CactuarJoe I generally hate summer and love winter but my new house has nice new energy-efficient AC and inefficient baseboard heat and it’s really testing me.
