Well, that same dude also created #Duolingo with a base purpose to let people translate and sell those translation or as a service
Currently Duolingo is embracing the AI slop big time and a lot of their users are deleting their accounts
At the end of the day, everything Luis von Ahn touches has only 1 end goal..

️@stux Yeah, I ditched Duolingo a couple of years ago when, after three years, it was still asking me to translate sentences like, I am driving my children to univiersity". That's such a basic sentence that I wasn't getting anywhere. And they added all that AI crap to it so it marked you as wrong because you used the wrong apostrophe character, for example. Absolute trash now. Good riddance.
