Love them. We made cherry preserve this week. Not jam, as it would need 50% sugar, but preserve with 75% fruit and only 25% sugar. Wonderful stuff, but needs to live in the fridge.

Nice photo. Making jam is surprisingly easy as I made some for the first time this year.

Are black raspberries different from blackberries? They look like what I’d call blackberries is all.

Looks great! I’m planning on doing the same in a few weeks. Little early for them where I live. Super on pancakes. Nom nom nom.

Yes, black raspberries are different from blackberries. Blackberries are a little longer, more tart, and when pulled take their core with them. Black raspberries are smaller, more sweet, and leave behind their core when pulled, like a red raspberry.

I’ll probably make some blackberry jam too when the time comes to harvest. They’re not usually ripe until the end of August around my parts.

Black raspberries have way more antioxidants and a more intense wine-like flavor that makes them amazing for jam (they’re my favorite to preserve becuase of that depth).
