This picture was taken 2 weeks after she arrived, by which time she'd decided I was safe
Now we're best friends, she sits on me every day & I live my life to take care of her and our other cat, Max

@rufustheduck our Zuro is a similar specimen. We had to catch him in deepest freezing winter with a cat trap, because he had a big purulent sore on his thigh. The first days after his long hospital stay he was always under the chest of drawers and very afraid, when I was in his aclimation room. But I read to him. Sat much in his room. And little by little he came out more, trusted me more and more. Now Zuro is clingy, cuddly, a little friendly chatterbox.
