One new thing I have noticed on here is people replying by copy and pasting the url for a post into the body of a post and writing their response below that.

@Taskerland If they just reply to the post then the 'engagement' goes to the OP. Quote posting / linking to the post provides more social media dopamine for the afflicted.

@Taskerland @Morgunin If you're using an app it's possible that the app doesn't fully support quote posts yet and it falls back to displaying the quoted post as a link.
(For example, Tusky displays "RE: (url)" and then the comment below it.)
