@Taskerland You do get quite a few who give the impression that after an excited flurry of "buy my cheese" they took a look at the cheese-returns on Masto and decided it wasn't working out for their fromage-empire dreams.

@Taskerland @Printdevil There are people who want to be influencers or who want to sell their fantasy heartbreaker, and this is not the right place for that sort of thing. Bluesky has been great as a honeypot for that crowd.

@Taskerland @Printdevil I do find I get a lot more interactions here than on other places, and many that are more relevant to my interests. But I also feel mastodon is slowing down every few months before picking up steam again

I joined during the "Greater Twitter Migration of '22." I hoped Mastodon would explode with users a bit more than it did, but I'm happy with the pace on dice.camp. I like the TTRPG theme and would love to get more TTRPG players on Mastodon.

I don't have too much to say on social media most of the time. I usually just post about my P1e campaign and about weird dreams I've had.

I do try to raise awareness about Mastodon to people outside of Mastodon.

I feel the world got quite sad in those intervening years. Politically and the Rise of Ai, people maybe just aren't feeling as creative or chatty?

Yeah, these days, rather than seeing Mastodon growth explode, I'm more interested in seeing more widespread distribution of new Mastodon accounts--too many people on mastodon.social makes makes federation less meaningful.

I had another Mastodon account on an instance focused on creative writing. That server went down without notice, so I also worry about the health of the instance and its operator.
