I reposted a (German) blog post I wrote as an introduction to the Fediverse, for newbies and interested people. However, in my wider social media bubble, most people prefer Instagram, Bluesky and Threads, because of the old and often mentioned point of "everybody is over there".

I've been engaging positively with folks on Bluesky, trying to see what are some common issues people come across when trying to use various fediverse platforms. (As a result of one such conversation, I just opened https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/37690.)

On that note, here's a PSA to folks who evangelize the fediverse aggressively and get into fights about it: Don't. You're doing the rest of us a huge disservice.
