Hey, some authors manage to have huge careers with self-insert characters!

@juergen_hubert @cstross That puts me in mind of Legend in which the protagonist (protrayed by Richard Dean Anderson) poses for the cover photos of his dime novels and gets mistaken for the hero of his books.
