The fact that he asked the question points to the reality that "white feminism" can only get you so far, & that white women have had a habit of choosing our own safety when things get tough, so I bet he's fucking *baffled* at the idea of that changing.

I hope it's changing. One of the more frustrating things I've experienced in recent years is fellow white feminists assuming that if I am commenting about a marginalized group, I must think myself part of it. 'Oh my God, you're not THAT poor/disadvantaged' uh... I did not in any way imply that I was? I said people deserve food, not that I personally deserve free food. -

@artemis and oddly it seems like this was wrapped in generalized history "women, be the ornament of one man, and men will sterilize the world outside so nothing new or different enters the tiny world where you are on display"... when really this was just english men, and the men english men sterilized as they translated into english.
like a lab experiment, and a subset of well published lab scientists... refusing to acknowledge the wilder world and other ways of knowing it.
so narrow a world view, with such a large amount of white space needed in a diagram to isolate understanding...

Ok, yes, I'm glad to hear Nazis upset & concerned about the number of white women involved, heart & soul, in protecting their neighbors.

In the proper context of that story the Samaritan took a real risk in aiding the man who'd been beaten by robbers-- it risked the wrath of the violent criminals to help. That's why priests and others who were supposed to help passed by.There is nothing new under the sun, as it also says in the Bible. These people just don't read the Bibles they wave.

My own faith has been through it with this, and it's something I've talked with other people of faith about as we push on against the Nazis. So while I do believe in God I'm just like "Whatever, if he's doing anything he can take care of himself, and whether he does anything or not I'll still be there for my neighbor as best I can."
