I have been weightlifting and running now for 2.5 years.

    I have been weightlifting and running now for 2.5 years.

    Prior to this, I wasn’t athletic whatsoever. I actually avoided all physical activity. As a result, I wound up dangerously obese.

    Technically, at least if BMI is an indicator, I’m still obese. I weigh more than ever before, in fact.

    But damn, what a difference. I can sit up without getting winded. Move without aching. Live without constantly feeling drained. That’s a win in my book.

      @atomicpoet FWIW, you look good. Dad bod, sure, but that is not a bad thing, and the rest of what you talk about is the whole point of exercise, being able live your live instead of being held back because you can't catch your breath.

        @CStamp Yep, that’s what this all about: health.

        As a bonus, I get the benefit of lifting stuff.

        I’ve quickly discovered dad bods are some people’s type. But I’m not aiming for aesthetics.
