There was never any deal to be had with a bad faith actor.

I’m not disapointed, because my expectations are that low. Now let’s build the true north, strong and free.

I keep reading about how shocked Canada is by this behaviour, who didn’t see this coming?

We have always been on the shit end of the trading stick. We sell energy at a huge discount, we sell petroleum at a discount, we sell lumber at a discount but we have always paid a premium for US imports. Fuck 'em, I’m tired of “the greatest country in the world” getting a deal because our politicians have been kissing their ass for decades.

Canada should be focused on subsidizing domestic prices by making trade agreements where we don’t loose money,

We are six months in, with 3.5 years to go. This will not end, so we should stop “negotiating” with a madman, and continue to work with the rest of the world.

The only explanation I’ve been able to come up with is that “shocked” is currently a fad word in journalism, like “unprecedented” was during the pandemic, and it’s being overused and used inappropriately. I think most of us are just disgusted by the whole situation, and by Trump’s antics in general.

Lots of fad words, and over used buzzwords in journalism right now. All trying to get that click.

You send the B team to play stupid games while the A team works on sovereignty.

Actually Mr. PM I could give a rats ass. Let him make it 1000% if it gets us untethered faster.

Dementia Donny changes his mind faster than he changes his diapers. Just wait a week.

Putting “Shocked” in a title is the journalism equivalent of putting a shocked expression in a Youtube clickbait video thumbnail.

and continue to work with the rest of the world.

As far as I can tell, that is a work in progress.

Meanwhile, keeping Trump at the table thinking he can talk us into doing something stupid to ourselves can hopefully buy us some time to reduce the fuckery he tries to pull against us.
